Volume 16, Act 43 - Seiya introduces herself to Haruka.

Seiya: I'm Seiya Kou. And I like your style. It's like the wind. We carry the same things... I'd like to shake your hand.

(Haruka and Seiya shake hands. A strange expression falls over Haruka's face.)

Haruka: Starlights. Those three... Who are they?

Volume 16, Act 44 - Usagi is on the roof of the school, writing a letter to Mamoru. The Three Lights stroll out onto the rooftop.

Yaten: This is too much. Let's give up already. Going to school is exhuasting.

Taiki: Learning is fun.

Yaten: Only for you.

Seiya: (to Usagi) What are you doing?

Yaten: (grabs the letter from Usagi's hands) "To my loving Mamo-chan, thank you for the wonderful postcard..." Your kanji is awful.

Usagi: Give me that! (grabs the paper from Yaten) That's not a very nice thing to say!

Yaten: (winks, sticks her tongue out, and smiles mischeviously) Sorry, sorry.

Volume 16, Act 44 - The Three Lights settle into the various social circles of Juuban High School. Highlights include:

Taiki beats Ami's test score by one point. (In the anime, Taiki and Ami tied for the highest test score.)

Yaten spies Michiru applying her lipstick, and tells her that it is an ugly color. Michiru, enraged, snaps her lipstick in two.

Taiki joins the Gardening Club with Makoto. "Nobody who likes flowers is a bad person," Makoto assures the other Senshi.

Seiya plays American-style football.

Volume 16, Act 45 - Seiya and Taiki try to force Usagi to remember Mamoru's death. When she starts crying, Seiya holds her and kisses her. Later...

Yaten: Why do you care about that girl?

Seiya: Because she reminds me of her.

Volume 16, Act 45 - Minako and Yaten confront each other.

Minako: We'll work as hard as we can to get dates, like ordinary high school girls! That's our ultimate dream! Nothing but that!

Yaten: You're fooling yourself. There is someone following their heart. You have decided to live for that person.

Volume 16, Act 45 - Suzu Nyanko chats with Usagi.

Nyanko: The only ones that you can believe in are your fellow girls, I think. But, Usagi-chan, those who wear boys' clothes despite being girls... You shouldn't trust what they say.

Volume 17, Act 46 - Seiya and Usagi are alone in Seiya's apartment.

(Seiya holds Usagi as she cries. Finally, she stops crying.)

Usagi: I'm all right. I won't cry anymore. The battle with Galaxia is approaching.

Seiya: (thinking, not speaking) Even now, you are burdened with such heavy wings. (Now speaking out loud) Princess Kakyuu, too. Her beloved was lost to Galaxia. Sailor Moon, whatever battles await you in the galaxy, we have power at your side. (she kisses her hand) We will protect you.

Usagi: I wish that our flesh could last forever, too.

Seiya: I hope that we are reborn again. (thinking to herself as she watches Usagi leave) We are of different stations in the universe. It must be unrequited love, Seiya.

Volume 18, Act 49 - Kakyuu makes her last stand against Sailor Phi and Chi.

Kakyuu: I'll fight as well. I'm also a sailor soldier. Kinmoku Star Power, Make Up!!... I am the guardian soldier of the planet Kinmoku. I am Sailor Kakyuu! Healer! Maker! Fighter! Give me your power! Starlights Royal Straight Flush!!!!

Volume 18, Act 49 - Princess Kakyuu's last words.

Kakyuu: I want to be born together again with everyone... I wonder... if I will... The sailor crystals... are our... hope... aren't they...
