  Starlights Models

The Excellent Model Series is Bandai's line of pre-assembled, pre-painted vinyl models. There are only four models available for the Sailor Stars season - Eternal Sailor Moon and the three Sailor Starlights. These are absolutely breathtaking models, and each stands almost a foot tall. The best part is that no assembly or painting is required. For people like me who have no eye-hand coordination whatsoever, that's quite a blessing. Unfortunately, these models are very difficult to find outside of Japan, and very expensive.

B-Club, the garage kit division of Bandai, also produced three Resin Model Kits of the Sailor Starlights. Each is 1/6 the scale of the real Sailor Senshi (er, if the Senshi were real) and features stunning detail. Fighter stands over a foot tall. The kits do NOT come pre-painted or pre-assembled. However, you can order them already painted and assembled at Setsuna Kou's Specialty Shop. For a price. ^^ These models are VERY hard to find, but definitely worth the money! I'm sorry that the images below aren't very good, but you can find more detailed, close-up photos at Setsuna Kou's site.

The last two images below obviously come from Hobby Fan, as you can tell from the watermarks.

In addition, a series of super-deformed resin model kits of all of the Sailor Senshi, including the Sailor Starlights, were released in very limited numbers in Japan. Here are some photographs of the Sailor Starlights super-deformed resin kits.

  Starlights Figurines

Petite Soldiers are Bandai's line of 5" tall figures produced from 1992 to 1996. The later models from 1996, which basically include only the Sailor Starlights and Eternal Sailor Moon, are far superior in quality compared to the earlier originals. Each figure comes with a stand and a collector's card. The detail on these figures is just *amazing*. Also, they're not nearly as expensive as some of the other merchandise on this page. I snagged a Sailor Starhealer for fifteen dollars on ebay. But I've seen these figures being sold for upwards of forty dollars.

Below is a much better image of Healer, that really shows the detail on her back.

And finally, here's a repeat of the high-resolution photograph of the Excellent models shown above, in which you can see a bunch of Petite Soldiers, including the Starlights, at their feet.

  Chibi Starlights Keychains

These cute little keychains come in a plasic bubble, and were manufactured by Bandai in 1996. They were given out as prizes from vending machines. The Starlights are part of a larger series that includes Eternal Sailor Moon and other keychains.

  Other Chibi Starlights Figurines

Here's something *really* cute, but unfortunately, extremely rare. Sailor Starlights stampers! I was told that these chibi plastic stampers were zen-in ("send-away") items offered by Nakayoshi magazine in 1996. But looking at the pamphlet included in the first photograph below, I kind of think that they were capsule prizes instead of zen-in items - especially since similar stamps of most of the rest of the Sailor Moon characters are out there, too. Oh well.

Here is an image of what the stamps from the Healer set look like:

Next we have Morinaga Milk Caramel Mascot figures. Each figurine comes packaged in a box with a "stage" (a plastic stand), a "background card" that you can stick on the stage for display purposes, and, of course, some Morinaga Milk Caramel candies.

Below is the only picture I've ever been able to find of these figures. I ripped this image from an ebay auction. On top is a row of "Sailor Moon R Cutie Doll" mascot figures, and on the bottom are three "Sailor Moon Sailor Stars Crystal Fortune" mascot figures. The three Sailor Stars figures are supposed to be Eternal Sailor Moon, Sailor Starhealer, and Sailor Starfighter. I assume that a Sailor Starmaker was made, but she's not pictured below. It's kind of hard to tell though, isn't it?

What the heck is this? It's chibi Starlights figurines, and each comes with a little playset! Akaiko donated some photographs of a very rare but very cute product.
