Chapter 13: Kanashimi’s Plan! The Beginning of the End! Hotaru got in front before Kanashimi could attack Shiuzko. “Kanashimi-chan. Do you remember me? I’m your mother, Hotaru,” Hotaru said, almost pleading. “I know. I could sense your Senshi aura,” Kanashimi said blankly. “I have something for you. I meant to give it to you sooner, but you ran away before I could. Here it is. It’s your wand so you can become Sailor Life,” Hotaru explained, handing her oldest daughter the white crystal wand that had been found earlier. Kanashimi looked at the wand, a strange glint in her eyes. “Yes. I am Sailor Life. And you must be Sailor Death, Natsumi,” she said, pointing to her youngest sister. “Cool! How did you know that already?” Natsumi asked eagerly. “I have been living with Mystina’s followers, and they had information on you. More specifically, I have been living in one of their dungeons,” Kanashimi explained. “Sit down, Kanashimi-chan, and tell us your story. Many things must have happened in 15 years,” Hotaru said. “Okay. It actually starts 17 years ago, when I was born. I was happy then, until the day I got competition in the form of a baby sister with an abnormally large forehead.” Pausing in her tale, Kanashimi glared at Shizuko, who shrunk back, twisting herself into one of Natsumi’s long black pigtails. “I ran away that day, not being able to face having someone else get Hotaru’s affections. I was picked up by a girl with long orange hair, who said she wanted me for her little baby. The girl took me to another dimension, where they put me in a dungeon. And that’s where I’ve been for 15 years. The person I need to see is Neo-Queen Serenity. She will make things right again,” Kanashimi finished, then she stood up and walked out of the door. Hotaru was confused. “If she wants my attention, why does she keep running away?” she asked. “I don’t know. But let’s go to the palace and keep an eye on her,” Natsumi suggested wisely. As it happened, Pikachu and her four kids were also visiting the palace at the same time Kanashimi arrived. This was very good luck for Kanashimi. She didn’t want Momoko. She didn’t need the help of Kasumi. And she certainly didn’t ask for the assistance of the playful Yuriko. No way. The one she wanted was innocent, quiet Naoko. “I have a favor to ask of you. You are so ladylike,” Kanashimi cooed, patting Naoko’s pink, fluffy hair. “W-what? Who are you?” Naoko whimpered, shrinking back. “I’m a fan of yours. You didn’t know you had a fanclub, did you? I would like you to talk to Neo-Queen Serenity. I’m sure she’d love your charming company,” Kanashimi requested. Naoko nodded; she wasn’t quite sure what was going on. But she did do as she was told, seeking out Neo-Queen Serenity. Meanwhile, Kanashimi was also seeking out something. She entered an oddly open room, left unattended in the careless abscence of Neo-Queen Serenity. With the villains reformed, there was no need to guard this room as carefully. Or so she thought. For inside that room was the Silver Crystal, pillar of Crystal Tokyo and the rest of the world. Kanashimi gazed upon it with awe for a few seconds. Then she did her evil task. Taking the green Chaos Crystal out of her pocket, she also took the Silver Crystal into the other hand and pressed the two stones together. There was a bright flash of greenish-silvery light, and the palace shook violently. Most of the other Senshi could feel the energy surge coming from the palace, and so they came. What they saw was shocking. Kanashimi was sitting on the top of the palace, holding a huge, peridot-colored crystal. “Life Celestial Power, Make Up!” she shouted as she transformed into her Senshi form. Sailor Life sat there, in her white Sailor outfit. “What are you DOING up there?! You’ll be hurt!” Sailor Saturn called. “No I won’t. I possess the new Eternity Prism. It is a combination of your Silver Crystal and the enemy’s Chaos Crystal,” Sailor Life said, calmly but loud enough to be heard on the ground. “What are you going to do with that thing? You better not use Mama’s gem for evil!” Sailor Infinity yelled, standing by Chibi Moon and Sailor Moon. Sailor Life wasn’t listening. “Halley’s Comet! Come crash into the Earth! Eternity Prism! Take me and Hotaru away! So we can be alone forever, and I can be the only sister she gives attention to!!” she commanded. A pale green light shot from the Eternity Prism, hitting a point in the sky.
