Chapter 11: Dreams and Romance vs. Science and Logic?! Hoshi and Azuri’s Fight! “Mama! Are you going to overthrow Serenity?!” Hoshi asked, as she, Taiki, and Azuri left the palace. “I didn’t say that. I said she was oppressing Yaten-san,” Taiki answered calmly. “I think I should be the Queen, anyway. You’re right. Serenity is oppressing us with her silly dreams and romance. Science will take over!!” Azuri declared. Taiki stared at her; that wasn’t what she had in mind. Her kids were taking this all out of proportion. She didn’t say anything though, as Azuri had the right to speak. The three of them started the long walk home; they were all three too tall to fit on the bus. Of course, Hoshi disagreed with her sister’s earlier statement. “What’s wrong with dreams and romance? They’re the fun part of life! And I should be the Queen; I’m older than you!” she retorted. “You ACT younger than me, though. You’re extremely immature, Hoshi. Dreams and romance are actually just brain functions that mess up your life and make you sad when you lose them. Hmmph. Why did we come with emotions, anyway?” Azuri snorted. “Do you want to go ask Hotaru-san or Ami-san about that at the hospital?” Taiki suggested. “Yes. Then Hoshi will see that science is what’s important,” Azuri agreed. “No way! I’m sure they’ll side with me! Because they both are in happy marriages; which are the real kind of romance! And without emotions and dreams, what else is there to fight for as Senshi?” Hoshi countered. “Science! We can protect science if we are Sailor Senshi!” Azuri shouted. Then they noticed Taiki had gone on ahead while they were arguing. “WAITT!!!! MAMA!!!!” they both screamed, running after her. In fact, they did end up going to the hospital for a visit, after Taiki called up Ami on the phone, and after Hoshi and Azuri continued their argument into the phone. “All right! I’m sure as a scientist, she’ll take my side!” Azuri proclaimed. “No way. I’ve heard stories about her in the past. She has sided with dreams and romance,” Hoshi retorted. “Heard stories about who?” Ami asked, as they met up with her. “You! You’re the dreams and romance girl who fights with her!” Hoshi said, pointing to Taiki. “Nu-uh! Ami’s a scientist! She’s GOTTA side with science!” Azuri shouted, positioning herself as if she were protecting Ami. “What’s going on here? And I don’t recall having a fight with Taiki-chan about that,” Ami said, confused. “I saw it on the Sailor Moon TV show! And that’s a historical representation of your past...wait, how come the Starlights are boys on that show?” Azuri asked. “Because the creators took some artistic license with it. And the fight between me and Taiki-chan must have been something they added to make the show more interesting,” Ami explained. “That’s great! Then you’ll surely side with me!” Azuri gushed, grabbing Ami’s hands impulsively and bending to her knees. “Side with you about what, Azuri-san?” Ami asked, unaware of the sisters’ argument. “I’m sure you’ll agree that science and logic have more worth than silly romance, am I right?” Azuri asked, her purple eyes almost pleading. “Hmm. I think they both have worth. Is that what you two were fighting over? Because I think they’re both equally important things,” Ami answered wisely. Hoshi and Azuri stared at each other in shock. Could they really both have won the argument. “But an argument has to have a winner! Who is correct?” Azuri demanded. “As I just said, neither of you is the loser or the winner,” Ami replied. Just then, a voice said “Noooo...someone must win...fight, sisters...fight.” Behind them stood a boy with light green hair in a style like Yaten’s. “Who are you? Do you have anyone I need to take care of?” Ami asked. “I’ll take care of these two girls,” he said, and he tried to grab Hoshi and Azuri, but Hoshi kicked him across the hallway. “What was that for?!” she shouted, grabbing her pendant. “I’m giving you to Amanda, our leader! I am Jason!” he retorted, fire crackling in his fingers. “What?! He’s an enemy! Nebula Cosmic Power!” “Maker Prism Power!” “Mercury Crystal Power!” “Maker Star Power!” “Make Up!” The four Senshi transformed. By that time, a second boy had joined Jason. He had light blue hair, and he was leering at the four Senshi. “Who are you, looking at us that way?” demanded Sailor Nebula. “I am William, do you want to be my girlfriend? Actually, all four of you can be my girl-OW!!” he shouted as Chibi Maker and Sailor Nebula started thrasing him. Sailor Mercury put out Jason’s fire, and the two male villains retreated, scared off by the Senshi. “What was that weird occurance? It wasn’t very logical,” Sailor Nebula said, confused. “Senshi business isn’t always logical. That’s something I learned quickly,” answered Ami, detransforming. Sailor Nebula detransformed, furrowing her brow in thought. She remembered talking to Yaten not too long ago. (flashback begins) “Aunt Yaten, it’s illogical for you to be so sad about a silly, emotional Princess. Also, I thought you were the cold type,” Azuri scolded. “You don’t understand, Azuri. I’m cold so they can’t hurt and leave me. You see, the same will happen to you. Don’t let yourself love anyone, because they will just leave you one day when they die,” Yaten told her. (flashback ends) Was Yaten right? Or was she actually...wrong? Maybe the one she needed to ask was her cold, logical mother. “Mama, is it okay for me to love someone? Because Aunt Yaten told me I shouldn’t love because then I’ll just get sad, like when her beloved Princess died,” Azuri said, her purple eyes pleading for once. Ami watched. She knew that it wasn’t her job to interfere in Taiki’s parenting methods, and she also knew that Taiki didn’t always agree with Yaten, anyway. Even Hoshi was quiet, as she was curious, looking at her mother and younger sister with her bright green eyes. “Azuri-san, you choose. It’s your choice whether to let yourself fall in love or not,” Taiki said, doing her characteristic shrug. “No! I need an answer from you! I want you to tell me which side to choose!” Azuri begged. “I cannot do that. I have no right to take the power of choice away from you,” Taiki replied stiffly, and she started to walk away, but Azuri grabbed her from behind. “Then it’s MY choice to ask you! Tell me which way to go!” she shouted, letting herself be dragged along. Hoshi followed, confused, and Ami just watched them, also confused, as they left her field of vision.
