Chapter 20: Love is Acceptance! A Lesson From Minako! Fish Eye stared at Tiger Eye, VesVes, and JunJun. “This is it,” he said. “Right. We are Mystina’s only hope,” added VesVes. “Let’s get that girl who loved Pegasus and the one who took a stand at the bakery,” decided Tiger Eye. “Let’s go and show our stuff!” finished JunJun. Meanwhile, Seiya’s statement was shocking. “What do you mean by that? I’m flattered, but I’m also confused,” said Pikachu. Seiya stared at Hotaru sadly. This was the moment of truth. “Hotaru, I’m sorry, but I’ve chosen to love Pikachu over you. She’s just more my type,” she finally said. Hotaru was stunned. And Haruka and Michiru were furious. “How dare you!!” they both shouted in unison, grabbing their transformation pens. “Hey, stop that! You’ll wreck the house!” Fireball warned. Hotaru ran out the door to Haruka’s car, sobbing. Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuna followed her, glaring at Seiya. “Um, by the way, I thought of something,” said Fireball abruptly. “What?” Yaten asked, trying to recover from the fight that had almost happened. “When Seiya-chan threw that tray at me in the bakery, it stopped in mid-air. It was eerie,” she explained. “Oh, that? I used my telekinesis,” said Pikachu non-chalantly. “You used a telephone?” Seiya asked, confusing her words again. “My telekinesis. I can move things with my mind,” Pikachu said, and she levitated the Sailor V manga for a demonstration. “Cool! That’s amazing! Were you born with that power, or does it have something to do with being a Senshi?” Fireball asked. “I was born with it, I think. I had this ability long before I even knew who the Senshi even were,” answered Pikachu. “I knew we couldn’t trust that eldest Light!” Haruka fumed. Then she realized something. Hotaru was gone! “Now where has she gone?” Michiru asked. Hotaru was walking to Minako’s house. She was someone, Hotaru knew, had some experience with heartbreak, as she had heard the story about Alan and Katarina. Minako heard the knock on her door. “I must greet my fans!” she squealed excitedly. Upon opening the door, though, she found it was only Hotaru. “Hello, Hotaru-chan. What do you want? You look sad,” said Minako gently. “Seiya said that she loves Miller-sempai better than me,” Hotaru sniffled. Minako was hit with more than just a sympathetic understanding. She had been in the same situation herself, not too long ago. “Hotaru-chan, I completely understand. Have you ever heard about what happened in England, with a boy named Alan?” Minako asked, sitting down so she was more at Hotaru’s level. “Yes. They thought you were dead, right?” Hotaru said, remembering the story she had heard. “You know what I learned about love then? That even if your lover leaves you for someone else, support them in their new love. If you can love them from a distance and support their happiness, then that is real love,” Minako said wisely. “Really?” Hotaru asked, surprised. “Really. The Senshi of Love knows all about it!” Minako chirped, doing her V-sign pose. Hotaru felt cheered up by Minako’s words. Pikachu was heading back to her house when she ran into Chibi-Usa, who was walking down the sidewalk at the same time. Also, at the same time as well, the four remaining Dead Moon Circus people attacked, crashing down from the top of a nearby building. Pikachu shoved Chibi-Usa out of the way, and the two of them hid in an alley. “Let’s transform! Aurora Rainbow Power, Make Up!” “Moon Crisis Power, Make Up!” “So you have appeared, girls,” JunJun sneered. “Yes, we have. You know who we are already. Pink Moonbeam Blaster!” “Aurora Rainbow Beams Blast!” The two attacks disintegrated the four evil circus performers. As Chibi Moon and Sailor Aurora cheered over their victory, Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuna watched them from a nearby cafe. “It looks like that Miller-san is nice to Small Lady. Maybe she really is okay,” said Setsuna. “Yes. It’s not like she tried to hurt Hotaru-chan,” said Haruka. “And Seiya-chan isn’t a bad girl, really. She did try to help take care of us, inept as she was,” added Michiru. “I think that we shouldn’t hate her. She just went by her heart, like Usagi-san,” said Setsuna wisely. “That’s right. It would be even more hurtful to Hotaru if Seiya stayed with someone she wasn’t in love with as much,” agreed Michiru.
