Chapter 4: Nephlite's Return! The Strange Love Rectangle! It was lunch time as usual at Juuban High. Usagi, as was typical of her, was begging Makoto for extra food. Ami, on the other hand, had a strangely dreamy look in her eyes. Usagi followed her gaze over to Umino, who was blissfully sitting with his girlfriend, Naru. "Um, Ami-chan? Do you have a crush on Umino?" Usagi asked, with innocent bluntness. Ami jumped, startled. "The way you were looking at him looked like you have a crush on him," added Minako. "Uh, um..." Ami hesitated, blushing. Impulsively, Minako grabbed Ami's notebook. "And why do you have his name written on the cover a bunch of times?" she asked, giggling. "I, um, need to go ask my teacher something," said Ami quickly, grabbing her lunch and running off. "What was that all about? I think she's hiding something," said Minako. "Minako-chan, you scared her off," said Makoto. Meanwhile, Naru noticed that a familiar car had sped by. Could it be? Had Nephlite returned? "Hey, Naru-chan, what are you looking at?" asked Umino. "Nothing. I thought I saw someone I used to know," said Naru, brushing off the sighting. It couldn't be him, anyway, since he was dead. Interestingly enough, Usagi had noticed it too. "Um, girls? Was that Nephlite's car?" she whispered. "Nephlite? Who's that?" asked Makoto. "Well, he was a villain we fought before you and Sailor Venus showed up. He used to drive this really neat car," explained Usagi. "I wouldn't be surprised if that was him, since I hear that Viluy showed up and captured Taiki-chan, or something like that," said Minako. "Yeah, she also captured Haruka-sempai and Setsuna-san too, but they escaped, luckily. She had teleported them to a cave. I wonder what's going on?" said Usagi. "Isn't this dangerous? To be talking about Sailor business on school grounds?" worried Makoto. "No, I'm pretty sure that we don't need to hide our identities anymore, now that we had to transform in front of those TV cameras," said Minako. After school, Usagi and Minako were discussing the dreamy look Ami had had on her face. Suddenly, someone jumped up behind them, shouting "Hi, Usagi-chan meatball-head!!" Usagi and Minako screamed, and whipped around, startled. It was Seiya! "Oh, Seiya-chan! We think Ami-chan has a crush on a boy named Gurio Umino. Do you know who he is?" asked Usagi. "Is he the boy who has thick glasses like me? Doesn't he hang around that redheaded girl?" asked Seiya, her brow furrowing as she tried to remember who he was. "Yeah, that's the one. I wonder if you could give Ami-chan any advice, since you've got a girlfriend already," suggested Minako, giggling wickedly. "Sure!! Seiya-chan the love doctor will cure her lovesickness!!" exclaimed Seiya, doing a V-sign in a typical Minako-ish pose. She then spotted Ami, walking home with Makoto. "Heyyyy, Ami-chan!!! It's Seiya-chan the love doctor!!" she giggled, jumping in front of Ami's face. "What's a love doctor?" gasped Makoto. "ME!! I heard that you have a crush on Gurio-chan!! Well, I can set you up with him! Just grab him, and smooch him on the lips, like this!" Seiya grabbed Ami and kissed her loudly. Ami and Makoto started to back away, huge anime-sweatdrops on their heads. "And then he will be charmed into being your love!!!" finished Seiya, doing the Minako-ish V-sign pose again. "Um, I thought he was with Naru-san already. They won a love contest together," said Makoto, finally able to speak. "And I really don't have a crush on anyone," added Ami, blushing deeply. "Sure you do! It's Gurio-chan! And I'll be sure to make sure he loves you better than that Naru-chan girl, whoever she is!" shouted Seiya, racing off to find Umino. Seiya did find Umino, and she grabbed him into a corner where they were alone. "Wha-what are you doing?" he stammered. "You know, Ami-chan has a crush on you. I say you should find someone your own, um, brainyness, like her! I know what you should do! Kiss her! Sweep her off her feet!" Seiya declared, grabbing Umino and kissing him, too. "Hey! Get your lips off my boyfriend!" shouted a voice. Naru and Hotaru were standing near them, looking angry. "I was just trying to bring him to Ami-chan! She was making goo-goo eyes at him!" cried Seiya, dropping to her knees and crying streams of tears a la Usagi. "Mizuno-san?! Making goo-goo eyes at my boyfriend?!" shrieked Naru. Just then, Ami strolled up behind them, curious about the commotion. "Were you trying to steal my boyfriend?" she challenged, grabbing Ami by her shirt. "Uh, n-no, it was just one little look at him...he's yours, Naru-san," whimpered Ami. "Hey! Don't pick on her! She didn't mean to steal him!" yelled Seiya. "YOU stay out of this! You've caused enough trouble, kissing Umino like that!" snapped Naru. "I was showing him how to kiss Ami-chan! I did it to her too!" begged Seiya. "You KISSED both of them?! Seiya, are you cheating on me?" gasped Hotaru. "No! I was doing it to show them my point, not to love them!" sobbed Seiya, crying Usagi-style again. "Well, well, Naru-chan, or should I say SAILOR ECLIPSE, who's your new whiny friend?" asked a smooth, evil-sounding voice. It was Nephlite! "Nephlite! You're back! My first love!" gasped Naru, running to him. "Hey!!! He's evil!! Naru-chan, what about me?" begged Umino. Seiya was staring at Naru, Umino, and Nephlite, her brow furrowed in confusion. "And who's that little worm?" sneered Nephlite, glaring at Umino. "He's my boyfriend! Don't you dare hurt him!" shouted Naru. "Well, I thought I was your boyfriend! Take that, usurper!" shouted Nephite, zapping Umino with an energy bolt. "Nephlite, stop! How come you've become evil again?" sobbed Naru. "But, Naru-chan! Your new powers of darkness make you evil too. Come join me and get revenge on the Sailor Senshi," said Nephlite. "Don't let him fool you! Your powers, as well as mine, are meant to kill the enemy, not innocent people! Saturn Crystal Power, Make Up!" shouted Hotaru, transforming into Sailor Saturn. "You're right! Eclipse Cosmic Power!" "Fighter Star Power!" "Mercury Crystal Power!" "Make Up!" The other three Senshi transformed too. "What?! Naru-chan, you would FIGHT me?!" gasped Nephlite, shocked. "Leave Naru-chan alone!! You'll have to get through me first!" shouted Umino, jumping in front of the Senshi. "Piece of cake," sneered Nephlite, shooting an energy blast at Umino. "How dare you hurt such a romantic, pure-hearted boy!! We'll punish him for that, won't we, girls?" yelled Star Fighter, gesturing towards Nephlite. "Yeah!! He shouldn't hurt my boyfriend!! Eclipse Darkness Surge!!" "Mercury Aqua Rhapsody!" "Star Serious Laser!" The three attacks disintegrated Nephlite. "Wow! You're powerful, Naru-chan!" exclaimed Umino. "They're so sweet!!" sobbed Seiya.
