Act One [Start Overture Music] [Open Curtain] Overture ~Starts off soft and floating, almost classical. The middle part does not distract from the action on stage. It ends with a dark little twist.~ {Fighter stands DC looking out. Maker is standing CR in her own thoughts. Healer is sitting CL in her own thoughts as well.}
FIGHTER The stars are beautiful tonight in their sea of black. They’re almost like diamonds upon a background of black velvet. Somewhere out there is a blue jewel that is known as Earth. Hey, Maker? MAKER Yes?
FIGHTER <wistfully> Do you ever think of the Earth? Sometimes I do. It’s amazing to think that our friends there might be looking up and thinking the same things. HEALER Thinking of a certain {pauses and smiles knowingly} someone? {Healer stands and starts to harass Fighter} Are you? Are you, huh?
FIGHTER No. {pushes Healer} I was just wondering what was happening there. That's all.
{Kakyuu enters, unnoticed.} MAKER Sometimes at night I can't help but remember the times that we sat and wrote our own lyrics to our own songs. The coming together of minds and hearts to create beautiful music that we can give to the world as our gift. I miss that sometimes.
HEALER I know that I complained a lot, but now that I look back those were the good old days. Don't get me wrong, I love it here, but it was great on Earth.
FIGHTER I hate to say this, but sometimes I wish that we could go back. Do any of you feel the same?
Sometimes.
HEALER Yeah.
KAKYUU Then why don't you go back?
STARLIGHTS Ouhi-sama!
{All three kneel.} HEALER We didn't mean to offend you, Ouhi. Please don't be angry. {Healer grovels a bit}
KAKYUU I'm not angry. If you really want to go then I think that you should. For a long time, you have worked long and hard to restore our home to its former glory. The least you deserve is a nice long vacation. Please understand that it is with happiness that I release you to visit your friends on the Earth. {Kakyuu smiles} Besides, I miss the songs that you used to sing for me.

Black Moon Revolution ~A dark song more on the hard rockish side. Drums sound like thunder with guitar playing in the background~ {Enter Onikisu DR, Paaru UR Petz DL, Calaveras UL, Rubeus FR, Esmeraude FL, Cooan LC, and Beruche RC} PETZ Set adrift on our own by those who must now pay. Darkness overwhelmed us, choking all forms of life except for the exiled. Nothing was left for us but a place that should not be. BERUCHE Growing up in a pit of despair, never knowing the light, we now want our freedom. To taste what we've never had. ALL Now we might fight to get into the light. We must have this land that is so full of life. This is our revolution. You are going to continue the song from where you stopped it this time. No interruptions. Got that? {Rei storms out L. Music starts again.} THREE LIGHTS You will never be alone. {Kaoru, a girl that eludes a sense of sadness and mystery, enters R carrying papers. She is followed by Eisi and Eimin, two girls that have an aura of darkness that is shown in the way that they dress. Eimin is the more masculine of the two. They are followed a few steps by Rei. They stop in the DL area, while Kaoru continues to DC. Rei joins the Three Lights at UP.} YATEN Hey. Look. It’s that new girl. Kally…Kari…something. SEIYA Kaoru. YATEN Oh yeah… SEIYA She’s always doing stuff for us but never talks to us. I wonder why. TAIKI I don’t know, but her friends are creepy. I don’t think they listen to our music. USAGI Maybe she’s shy. YATEN I don’t know about you, but I’m going to go talk to her. {Yaten walks to DC, right behind Kaoru.} Hey, Kaoru! {Kaoru screams and papers going flying. She drops to pick them up. Seiya moves DC and drops in front of Kaoru to help her pick up the papers.} SEIYA Don’t mind Yaten. He’s a moron. {He gives her the papers he has gathered.} I would like to thank you for all that you have done for us. That song that you wrote for us is sure to be a hit. Oh! I know what you’d like. May I? {He takes one of the papers from her and starts to write on it.} "To Kaoru: I’m your number one fan. Love, Seiya Kou" There you go. {He hands it back with a smile. Kaoru folds it up and puts it on top of the other papers. She exits L. Eisi and Eimin notice and run out after her. Seiya rises and turns to Yaten.} Yaten! You scared her away! YATEN You didn’t exactly charm her, Romeo. SEIYA Yeah? You’re the one that walked up behind her and freaked her out with your face. YATEN I’m not the one that made her run away, Mr. "I'm your number one fan". SEIYA Whatever. I’m going after her. {Seiya exits L.} YATEN Oh no you don’t. {Yaten exits L.} TAIKI All that for a girl? I better go find them before they try to kill each other. I’ll talk to you later. Bye. GIRLS Bye, Taiki. {Taki follows Yaten and Seiya. Chibi Usa and Hotaru enter L} CHIBI USA Hey, everyone! How was the rehearsal? REI It was great, besides the petty fighting plus the three times that we had to stop and start the same song. Nothing unusual happened. MINAKO I’m so happy they’re back! AMI I think we all are. {Enter Mamoru L. Usagi and Chibi Usa rush up to him.} USAGI & CHIBI USA Mamo-chan!! MAMORU Usa-ko. Don’t act like a child. USAGI Mamo-chan? MAMORU I think we should separate for a while. USAGI
MAMORU I want to make sure I’m doing the right thing. USAGI But… MAMORU Go. Leave me alone. Play with your dolls. {Usagi backs away from him and exits R. Chibi Usa gaps at him then follows. She is followed by Hotaru. Rei storms up to him.} REI How could you? {She whirls around and exits R. She is followed by Ami, Minako, and Makoto. Each has their own reaction to Mamoru’s words.}
[Start music of Reality of Nightmares. Dim lights.] Reality of Nightmares ~Dark. Brooding. Slow.~ MAMORU A cloud of darkness surrounds me keeping me from the one I love. Dreads icy fingers clutch my heart squeezing out all hope. I look for you in the darkness, but nowhere are you to be found. Fear takes my breath away so that not a sound do I utter. I fear that one day the nightmare will become reality. That is why I drive us a part. Though it kills me to do it, my love is too great for you to sacrifice your life for happiness. Fight of The Shadows ~Technoish. Mysterious. It picks up in the middle and then goes back to mysterious.~ SISTERS All hope is lost as the darkness surrounds to give it's punishment. You can never escape what you deserve. The pain will be everlasting if the truth is not told. The taste of your death will be the last thing you know. Don't be afraid to meet your fate. We all have to in time. Your hour glass has run out of its sands. VENUS <VO, spoken> Venus Crystal Power, Make-Up! MERCURY <VO, spoken> Mercury Crystal Power, Make-Up! Calavaras snaps her whip and Venus reacts.} [sound FX} MOON <VO, spoken> Moon Crystal Power, Make-up! {Moon enters. The Senshi recover and attack the Sisters} SISTERS You cannot stop the thread of fate that deserves to be cut. It will happen no matter who interferes. You cannot stop the punishment of those who have done wrong. SENSHI You cannot win with an evil heart. Your darkness will soon block you out. The soldiers of love will defeat the evil in your soul. MOON <spoken> Rainbow Moon Heart Ache! {The Sisters scream. Esmeraude laughs from off stage. She and Rubeus enter.} RUBEUS <spoken> You four...go...home. {The Sisters and scramble and exit.} ESMERAUDE <spoken> So...it's you. I would know that sugary sweetness anywhere. No matter.... RUBEUS <spoken> Now is not the time for our formal introduction. Until then... {Rubeus "zaps" the Senshi. They react.} [Lights and sound FX] {Esmeraude laughs and Rubeus and she exit.} [Music for Fight of Shadows fades out.] MOON W-who were they? MARS It looks like we've met our new enemy MOON Mamo-chan? Are you ok? {Mamoru exits L without looking at Moon.} [A throne is brought on stage with Demando in it.] {Enter Rubeus, Esmeraude, Saffiru and, Wiseman.} [Lights fade on] {Enter Paaru and Onikisu enter L pushing Kakyuu. The Sisters enter R and bow.} DEMANDO Ahh...there you are... Have you found the Rabbit? PETZ We're sorry Demando-sama. One of the locals of this Godforsaken time refused to tell us where the brat was. COOAN When we tried to get it out of him those...those... BERUCHE We were attacked. We would have stopped them.... CALAVARAS But...but...we were stopped by this girl. RUBEUS Stop sniveling and making excuses. DEMANDO Keep trying to find her. She's important to our plan. Now go. {The Sisters stand, bow, and exit R.} Now Paaru, Onikisu. I trust that you have been taking care of our...guest... {Paaru and Onikisu step forward pushing Kakyuu and kneel. When Kakyuu doesn't kneel, both of them hit her in the back of the knees causeing her to fall forward.} PAARU We have been treating her as she deserves. DEMANDO Very good. {Wiseman leans in towards Demando and he reacts as though he has been spoken to.} Yes. I must speak to Wiseman in private. {Demando stands and exits R with Wiseman.}
SAFFIRU Wait! Demando! I must talk to you! {Saffiru exits R. Paaru and Onikisu stand and turn menacingly towards Kakyuu. Esmeraude and Rubeus walked menacingly towards Kakyuu. Kakyuu cringes and scoots away.} [Lights fade out. Throne is pushed off stage.] {Exit Paaru, Onikisu, Esmeraude, Rubeus, and Kakyuu exit. Enter Usagi} [Lights fade on.] USAGI Mamo-chan...why? Don't you love me? What have I done to make you angry? [Start music for Fools of the Heart] Fools of the Heart ~Starts as a typical sad ballad but quickly turns into a very fast, crazy, hyper song.~ USAGI Why must tears of rivers be shed when it comes to love? Is someone above playing a cruel joke? {Enter Makoto, Ami, Rei, and Minako. They sneak up behind Usagi.} My heart is broken in two. Why must this be? ALL (except Usagi.) Pick up the pieces of your broken heart and see that a new day is coming. See the glory of the day and let your troubles faded away. {All try to cheer up Usagi through out the song who doesn’t react.}

REI It worked. AMI Thank goodness. I was about to be worried. {Enter Haruka, Setsuna, and Michiru. All three seem a bit distracted.}
USAGI Haruka-san! Setsuna-san! Michiru-san! Hi! SETSUNA Oh. Hello, Usagi-chan. USAGI Setsuna-san. What's wrong? MICHIRU The seas are rough. They foretell to me that a great evil is brewing. SETSUNA The balance between the light and the dark has shifted. Somehow it must be brought back to its equality. If we don't I would hate to see what happens. REI We know. We met our new enemy today. HARUKA We need to stop them then. Evil should not prevail in this world. {Enter Kaoru R, being chased by Eisi and Eimin. The two stop her and push her around a bit. She drops the book she was reading. When she fights back they act as though they are about to hit her. Haruka and Michiru stop them and throw them off stage.} HARUKA You really shouldn’t have friends like that. Are you okay? {Kaoru shrinks back slightly.} MICHIRU Don’t worry. We’re not going to hurt you.
{Michiru hands Kaoru her mirror.} Here. Fix yourself up. Haruka’s right. You should find some better friends. {Kaoru looks into the mirror and regards her reflection with sadness.} HARUKA {Looking in the mirror behind Kaoru} See. You’re such a pretty… {She reacts to the reflection and motions for Michiru to take a look. Kaoru hands the mirror back to Michiru.} MICHIRU Why don’t we go out for ice cream? USAGI Did someone say ice cream? Can we come too? HARUKA Sure. {Setsuna acts confused and Michiru talks to her quietly.} SETSUNA Let’s go. {Haruka, Setsuna and Michiru exit L. Just as the others are about to follow Esmeraude and Rubeus enter R.} ESMERRAUDE Well look what we have here. It looks like a bunch of the…locals are having a party.
RUBEUS We don’t have time for idle chatter. Give us the Rabbit or die. Oh. And we’ll take that girl too. {He motions to Kaoru who backs away.} USAGI
ESMERAUDE That’s none of your concern. MAKOTO It is when a friend is involved. {Kaoru looks rather startled at that.} RUBEUS If it’s a fight you want a fight you will get. {Rubeus and Esmeraude attack. The girls dodge their attacks for the most part. The book that Kaoru dropped gets kicked around but not off stage.}
HARUKA <VO> Uranus Planet Power, Make-Up MICHIRU <VO> Neptune Planet Power, Make Up! SETSUNA <VO> Pluto Planet Power, Make Up! {Enter Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus L} URANUS World Shaking! [FX] NEPTUNE Deep Submerge [FX] PLUTO Dead Scream [FX] {Rubeus and Esmeraude get blown off right.}
URANUS That was easy. NEPTUNE Are you all right? USAGI I’m fine. Everyone else looks fine too. URANUS Good. Your friends are waiting for you. {Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune exit L followed by Rei, Makoto, Minako, and Ami. Kaoru lingers behind. Usagi walks up to her and puts a hand on her shoulder.}
USAGI Come on. We’re your real friends. You’re safe with us. {Usagi leads Kaoru off stage. Enter Yaten and Seiya UR, looking around for something. They sit down at C when they don’t find it.} SEIYA I told you. You scared her away. YATEN I'm not talking to you. {Taiki enters L. He walks UR and sits next to Seiya and Yaten.} TAIKI Couldn't find her could you? BOTH Shut up. {Kaoru enters L looking for her book. Taiki, Yaten, and Seiya notice her and motion towards each other.} [Start music for Our Last Goodbye.] Our Last Goodbye ~A sad, slow, soft ballad.~ KAORU Tears sting at my eyes. I don't want to cry over you. Please forgive me if I let it go. I can't help if they flow. A pain that's deep inside. The past just seems to make me slip away. This is our last goodbye. I know that I can't help it. That's the way my life seems to go. I will lose forever. This is our last goodbye. SEIYA I don't know why I feel this strange connection whenever I am close to you. There is some sort of attraction that I can't deny. But I know that I can't stay here. There's a duty I can't pass by. But for this feeling I can't lie. This is our last goodbye. I will take my love beyond the stars. I will never leave her side again. This is our last good bye. YATEN I've always felt alone with my world falling apart around me. KAORU I'm sorry that I can no longer stay. That I'm hiding deep inside. I can see no other way to keep you safe from harm. I know don't think it's better this way, But for you I must not delay. This is our last goodbye. [End music for Our Last Goodbye. The lights dim.] {A silhouette of Kakyuu is seen.} LIGHTS Ouhi! {They kneel.} DARK KAKYUU <darkly, slightly angry> Starlights. So you remember who I am. I thought that you would forget. {Seiya stands and is about to speak.} Save your excuses. I have had it. It's over. I want nothing to do with you. I don't care about your protection. Stay on the Earth where people care about you. Forget that I exist, for if you return to Kinmoku you will be worse off then dead. {The silhouette disappears.} [The lights brighten.] TAIKI <softly, shocked> Why? Why would she say that? {The Lights react to the news in their own way, while Kaoru looks completely horrified. After moment or two Yaten walks up to Kaoru.}
YATEN You won't tell anyone you heard this will you? KAORU <softly> No. YATEN Good. SEIYA We have to go. We'll talk to you later. {Exit Lights R.} [Start music for Lonely Out of My Time] Lonely Out of My Time ~Has a slight rockish flavor. Medium speed.~ {Enter Chibi Usa L.} CHIBI USA Alone and unwanted in a time far from my own. I don't know what to do. Lost here by myself. Surrounded by those who don't want me. I try to make friends, but are they really true to me? Will my future be changed? I'm afraid that I will never be if things continue this way. I'm lonely here in this time and I don't want to be. I will change what I need to change. I won't let it all end this way. This is not supposed to be. I don't want to be alone any more. And I will do anything to let that be. Kaoru spots them and tries to get her off stage but is blocked by Rubeus and Esmeraude.} PAARU It looks like we're killing two birds with one stone. The Rabbit and the Butterfly. Look. The weakling thinks that she can protect the brat. ESMERAUDE My Demando-sama will be pleased. PAARU Please. He's too involved in his...obsession. {Esmeraude grabs Chibi Usa while Paaru grabs Kaoru. Snapping is heard off stage. The Starlights enter.} STARLIGHTS A wandering shooting star piercing through the darkness... FIGHTER Sailor Star Fighter... MAKER Sailor Star Maker... HEALER Sailor Star Healer... STARLIGHTS Stage on! ESMERAUDE You can't hurt us. If you attack us your friends will get hurt too. {Esmeraude laughs. Chibi Usa bites Esmeraude's who screams and lets her go. Kaoru elbows Paaru, who lets her go and doubles over. Kaoru also hits her with her book. Act Two [Open main curtain] {Enter Three Lights .} TAIKI I was there. I could have stopped them. She seemed to lonely. I could have done something. And now...now they have our princess. SEIYA Taiki, don't beat yourself up over it. There was nothing that we could have done. We will find them both. TAIKI Yes. I know. It's just that I haven't felt this helpless since... SEIYA We all felt helpless then. How can it be forgotten? {The Three Lights exit.} [Open inner curtain. Scrim is down. Lights are dim and red.] *Dance Sequence* {Kakyuu enters behind the scrim. She looks as though she is looking for someone. Senritsu, Kakyuu's boyfriend, enters. He sneaks up behind her and taps her shoulder. She whirls around and reacts warmly. He gives her an incense burner. They hug. Fighter enters, unnoticed, and watches sadly as the couple dances together. Kakyuu ends up facing Figher. Kakyuu curtsies to her and holds out her hand to dance. Fighter takes it for a moment then lets go. Kakyuu nods, a bit sadly, and exits. Senritsu follows her. The Starlights exit as well. Galaxia enters and dances her happy dance of destruction. Senritsu enters. Galaxia and him start to fight. After a moment, Kakyuu enters. She enters just in time to see Senritsu lose to Galaxia. She takes his starseed. Kakyuu reacts to this and goes to Senritsu's side. Galaxia attacks Kakyuu, who reacts to it. Galaxia is about to attack again, when the Starlights enter, attacking her. Galaxia exits. Fighter goes to comfort Kakyuu but is stopped by Maker. Kakyuu looks up at the Starlights who nod and go after Galaxia. Kakyuu has a solo dance with her incense burner, showing her grief. Senritsu exits, not noticed by the audience. Chibi Chibi enters, taking the incense burner. She holds out her hand to Kakyuu, who takes it. They exit together. The Starlights re-enter, having not found Galaxia. They look around for Kakyuu and look out and beyond the audience. They exit after their princess.} *End Dance Sequence* [Raise scrim. Change light color] {Enter Mamoru.} MAMORU Chibi Usa is gone and my nightmares have stopped. No, I can't say that. They have just begun. The people that I care about most are slowly being taken away from me. {Usagi enters, notices Mamoru and stands way from him.} ...Usa-ko... USAGI Mamo-chan?
