Submit a Fic!
You want to submit a fanfic or poem? That's great, and I love you already! But due to some recent confusion over submission policies, I decided to create this page in order to clear up some issues. On this page you will find everything you need to know about how to submit a fanfic to this site.
Step One: Format your fic.
I will only accept HTML or TXT files. That means that your file extensions must only end in .htm, .html, or .txt.
Please make sure that if you are submitting a multi-part fic, each chapter must be a SEPERATE file!
And if you are submitting a text file, you must WORD-WRAP your file or else it will be unreadable. If you're not sure how to format your text files, here's a guide shamelessly ripped and copied from A Sailor Moon Romance:
You can easily create text files in programs such as Notepad, Wordpad, Microsoft Word, among many others. We [suggest] that you format your fanfic to 70 characters per line. Web browsers do not automatically wrap the lines in .TXT files, therefore unwrapped files look terrible and are very unreadable. If you don't know how to format to 70 characters per line, we'll tell you. First, set the font as Courier New, then count out 70 characters. Set the right margin to that point, or just a couple characters after, then hit enter at the end of every single line.
Yes, that's a long and tiring process, especially if you have a long multi-part fic to format. But that's just what fanfic authors do. If you don't take the time to format your fic, then I will not be able to publish it!
Step Two: Zip your fic.
Use a program like Winzip to zip up your fic. If you have multiple chapters, please zip everything up into ONE file. Even if your fic has only one single part, zip it up anyway! It's easier for me to handle this way, and it prevents my email server from corrupting HTML fics especially.
Step Three: Email me the fic as an attachment.
Send an email to me.
In your email, you must include the following:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your homepage URL (if you have one)
- The title of your fic
- And remember to ATTACH your zipped fic before you actually send the email!
